In the Czech Republic the anticommunist witch hunt made another dangerous step: a decision on official dissolution of the Communist Youth Union (KSM) by the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic. This official dissolution of the KSM was realized after almost a year lasting struggle between the state power on one hand and the KSM and its partners in the Czech Republic and abroad on the other hand.

Final Declaration of the 5th Meeting of European Communist Youth Organizations

The 5th Meeting of European Communist Youth Organizations took place in Prague, Czech Republic from 27th to 29th October 2006 with attendance of communist youth organizations from Austria, Belgium, Britain, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden and the Czech Republic. The World Federation of Democratic Youth also participated in the meeting as observer. The meeting took place under the slogan “Struggle of European Youth against Attacks on Social and Democratic Rights - Militant Offensive against Anticommunism! For Decent Life and Socialist Future for the Youth!”, comprising an important moment for the analysis of the political, social and economical situation of young people in different European countries, for the coordination of efforts and for the exchange of experiences of work and struggle amongst the communist youth organizations in Europe.

"The representatives of the KSM that was given an ultimatum to respond to the attack of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic until March 3, 2006 have met a vice-minister of Interior on March 1, 2006. The representatives of the KSM handed him over a letter in which the KSM replied to the attack of the Ministry of Interior refusing it and defending the programmatic character, goals and Marxist principles of the KSM."

The Communist Youth Union in the Czech Republic has been officially dissolved by the state power

Dear Comrades, the Communist Youth Union (KSM) in the Czech Republic has been officially dissolved by the state power on October 12, 2006. On October 16, 2006 the KSM has received a letter from the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic that announces that the Ministry of Interior finally dissolved the KSM. It happened in spite of a large campaign against the danger of illegalization of the organization of young communists in the Czech Republic.
